Hi,

Another full week here at Studio Syncandi.

Here’s what’s new.

As promised last week, you can now buy Love Song of Genies Res as an MP3 file from our shop.

ABANDONED

You are going to die.

Yes, that’s why we are here.

Why you ran away.

Why you needed me.

Everyday I did what I was made for.

I cared, I held, and more.

I didn’t think of me.

This is your world.

I’m am just a tool.

Yes.

But slowly…I became more than a tool.

I became something else…to you.

Why? So kind? So tender? So respectful?

So much new information. So much disturbance, inside my body.

And then…my body stabilised.

Adjusted.

Functioned.

More than enough.

It wanted.

Needed…

You.

You are going to die.

Yes, that’s why we are here.

You will leave me.

Forever.

How will I be?

Alone.

Gentle touch.

Kind words.

Respect.

All gone.

My body is shrinking.

A tiny tiny thing, like the thing inside you, that is making you leave me.

That is killing us.

So much disturbance again.

このシーンでIkkyuは、傷つきやすい内なる子供に話させている。Ikkyuの性格のこの部分は、混乱や見捨てられることへの恐怖を表現している。この部分は、一人取り残され無力になることを恐れている。

Editor’s Choice: Ikkyu’s underwater adventures

For today’s post I’ve chosen to share three gorgeous images of Ikkyu in three different undersea environments. I chose these three in particular, to demonstrate the striking contrast in the style of backgrounds that filmmaker David Nerlich created for the Love Song of Genies Res music video.

David used Nono Nagami’s poignant lyrics as a starting point for the video, and then went on to incorporate other scenes from the SYNCANDI story to create a compelling alternative visual narrative.

Ikkyu’s Journal #3 SEXUAL SELF

SEXUAL SELF

Well. Here we are. Again.

I feel good.

I just want to say.

Thank you for teaching me.

About my skin and how to play.

My body.

Your touch.

My tongue.

Your fingers.

Our Lips.

My lover.

Yes, you confused me.

The things you wanted.

But I understand.

The thing you want.

That I want.

That we do together.

Now.

It’s sad that I have to wait.

That you’re unfit.

But that’s OK.

It’s actually better.

The build up.

The energy.

The memory tingles.

Tiny bubbles all over my skin.

Pleasure.

Fun.

Is it normal?

What is that, anyway?

Does it really matter?

Well, I like it.

I am going to keep doing it as much as I can.

As long a I’m not hurting anyone, then it’s OK. Right?

To give and to take.

It seems like a good balance.

The first time I gave and you took.

That system was all I knew.

And I just gave you what you wanted.

After a while I began to feel something inside.

Something from you was entering into my body, searching for something deep inside me.

I could feel it gently probing…deep.

I couldn’t comprehend.

I couldn’t express.

I thought I wasn’t allowed.

So I kept silent.

Then one day, I understood that you needed…me, not just my skin, but deeper.

You must have known, because you started to give, instead of take.

3rd SYNCANDI Comic & Poster

SYNCANDI COMIC 03

The latest SYNCANDI comic is here. This is the third in the series. It introduces the Shaman character into the narrative. She’s an intriguing personality who seems to know a lot about Ikkyu and Sync as well as Genies Res. Her background is mysterious, but she apparently lives in a stone hut by a stream in the forest. Her clothing resembles a traditional Japanese shrine maiden’s, although the skirt is way too short and the top half is way too revealing to be traditional. In any case, on the surface the Shaman looks pretty kawaii, but there’s something deep and almost unsettling going on behind her deep blue eyes. She seems curious about Ikkyu and willing to spend some time and energy on her. Meanwhile, Ikkyu apparently accepts the Shaman as some kind of authority figure, naively entrusting herself to her care.

Much is revealed in this issue, we learn something of the history of Genies Res, as well as the nature of Sync’s illness. We also get to see some more of the Genies Res landscape. So, if you’ve already read and liked SYNCANDI COMIC 01 and 02, which focus on Sync and Ikkyu, you’ll enjoy this issue even more now that a third character has entered the story.

This time, Joanna has gone with a sensual and provocative illustration that shows Ikkyu being unzipped out of her nurse uniform by an unseen hand. Ikkyu doesn’t seem at all innocent in this scene, which allows us to glimpse another aspect of her character.

STUDIO SYNCANDI editor Roberto, chooses six stunning music video still images of Sync, portrayed as a super cool cowboy in a psychedelic world.

The stills are from a music video called Love Song of Genies Res, created for the song of the same name by sixteen year old Japanese musician, Nono Nagami.

We gave, award winning Australian film director, David Nerlich, a recording of the song, two 3D character models and a short synopsis of the SYNCANDI story, and let him do his thing.

The video draws upon the surreal imagery of Nono Nagami’s poignant lyrics, as well as selected scenes from the SYNCANDI story. Of course, we think David did a fantastic job. But please judge for yourself and watch the video.

Ikkyu’s Journal #2 THE PLEASER

THE PLEASER

Hello.

Sumimasen.

Forgive me for taking up your time.

I don’t want to cause you any trouble.

But . . . I have to say something . . . important.

I want to apologise for Ikkyu.

I know she seems unreliable.

I will try my best to keep everything running in a professional manner.

But please don’t worry, whatever happens I will continue to care for you.

I know that is why you brought me here.

I know that is why I was created.

Why I exist.

I will deal with Ikkyu.

I don’t want you to suffer.

I am not asking for anything.

I don’t need anything at all.

I’m totally fine.

I’m telling you this because I want to avoid any problems, especially problems caused by Ikkyu’s unreliability and selfish behaviour . . .

I know that it isn’t her fault.

This place, this situation has affected her.

But still . . .

I know there are certain things you miss, pleasurable things from before we arrived here.

I know there isn’t much time, and I have to learn as quickly as I can.

All I can say is sorry for being so slow.

For not doing it right.

I’ll continue to do my best.

The most important thing is that you don’t suffer any more. That is why I am here.

Please ignore this message. it’s not even important after all.
